About Our Board

Hi, my name is Nannette Gonzalez and I'm the Cofounder and president of ROCK Ministries! However, I like to think of myself as a missionary on a mission to hug as many babies that I can for the Lord! I have been blessed beyond measure over the last 7 years by being a "mother to the motherless" and to be friends with some of the poorest people I know but so rich in the Lord! I have learned to so many from this culture and I find it a privilege to be called to Romania! Hi, this is Margie Zink. I made my first trip to Romania in 2001, then I found Nann and ROCK Ministries and I’ve made several trips back! God has given me a heart for these children, serving them on short-term trips to Bucharest and supporting the ministry while I’m home in Encinitas, CA. I work for Hallmark Cards as a Sales Representative, and for the past 30 years I have held a variety of positions in Retail Sales and Management, Field Sales, and Sales Training. I also volunteer my time and talents serving on the Board of Directors of Change Point Inc., an international outreach ministry that has led me to travel all over the world.


Hello, my Name is Robbin Weege and I go to First Presbyterian Church in Bakersfield, Ca. While I was attending church one Sunday our pastor was talking about Missions and how the Bible states that you should go to help God's people and to spread the word of the Lord. This sermon spoke to my heart and the next thing I know is I am hungry to serve the Lord. I am on First Presbyterians Missions committee, helped several small ministries in my community and I have been on two world missions. My first world mission was in Guatemala with Helps International where our team installed stoves in rural areas. My second world mission was to Romania with ROCK Ministries to pray and care for abandoned children. When I got back from Romania I wanted to know more about ROCK’s ministry than I had learned on my trip. God put every child, hospital worker, staff member, and of course Nannette on my mind & heart all of the time. I am a housekeeper by trade and it goes to show that it doesn't matter what you do for a living if GOD puts a passion in your heart you will follow.


My name is Jay De Miranda. I am a retired businessman and married to a lovely lady, Shirley. I met Nannette through the Los Angeles Times article written about her and ROCK Ministries in 1999. After reading the article and having a heart for the less fortunate children myself, I was so impressed by Nannette’s passion for her work with the children in Romania that I had to be involved. I have served on the ROCK Board of Directors sharing my financial expertise since 2006. My wife and I have traveled twice to Romania to work with ROCK Ministries.


Hi, my name is Kari Glennan. I first went to Romania when I was 16 years old and my life was changed forever. The lives of the children that I encountered made such an impact on my life. I returned every year after that, to keep working with kids in the orphanages and in the hospital. After graduating from college in 2005, I moved to Romania for two years to be a full time missionary for ROCK. I loved every minute of it, and my heart will always be with those kids. Hello from beautiful So. Calif. My name is Helen Bethell...My husband and I fell in love with the children of Romania back in 94 after seeing how desperate they were on TV. Not only are we baby huggers, we are Nan lovers. She has such a love for the country and its people, we got on board with ROCK Ministries and what a ride we've had. We have watched ROCK Ministries grow into what it is today and it is still growing by leaps and bounds. What insight ROCK Ministries has to the needs of the people, whether it be Hospital care, foster care, family assistance or children in the orphanage's....ROCK Ministries is there! We are so grateful to be a part of an organization that puts the Lord first in all matters....its exciting to see where He is taking us!


Hello! My name is Barbara Dow. I have worked as the administrator at ROCK Ministries' American headquarters in Southern California (Rialto) since 1999, and love it! Co-Founders Nannette, her twin sister, Annette and I have been best friends since 1979. I have seen how the Lord can, does and will use a heart like Nann's that is willing to step out and change lives! After going to Romania and seeing first-hand how ROCK Ministries touches so many lives and to watch how HE uses Nannette as HIS vital instrument, I feel even more privileged to be working side-by-side with ROCK Ministries in this wonderful work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
